What's a Bot?

Bots are pieces of software that solve problems for users by conversing with them using natural language. They can be organized by line of business, production environment, team or customer group, etc.

You can think of a bot as a container for any conversation flow (Intent) you develop in Dialog Studio. Once an intent is attached to your bot, the bot becomes imbued with the ability to perform whatever task is built in the intent's conversation flow (booking a spa appointment, ordering room service, etc.).

Requirements

A bot must always employ the following to build and deploy to the world:

• a natural language processing (NLP) engine to analyze speech and text inputs

• at least one conversational channel to communicate with users

• at least one conversation flow called an intent to classify a task and define the logic it should follow
